Product Description:The BLD5800 Protimeter Moisture Measurement System by GE Industrial Systems is three instruments in one. Use as a PIN-type moisture meter, with a large, easy-to-read LCD display. Or, use the RF mode to scan behind or below surfaces to detect moisture without any penetration. Use with the included Hygrostick to measure relative humidity, dew point, dew point proximity, and temperature. Rugged and compact, this instrument is an indispensible tool for the professional mold remediation specialist, home inspector, or contractor. Features:
Application Modes:Use the MMS to systematically:
The MMS is compact and easy to use, featuring a large liquid crystal display and a cluster of four buttons for selecting the operational modes. It is supplied in a sturdy nylon carrying case together with the necessary accessories for a complete moisture survey. Moisture Meter ModeWhen used as a moisture meter, the MMS has two operational modes known as Search and Measure. By selecting Search mode and holding the instrument against building materials such as walls, the user obtains a qualitative indication of the moisture level beneath the surface or behind a covering like tile or flooring. Select Measure mode using the standard pin or 5” deep wall probes to gather further information at the surface and up to 5” in depth below the surface. Hygrometer ModeThe MMS can also be used as a hygrometer to measure relative humidity, ambient temperature and dew point. This makes it easy to compare the moisture condition of residential and commercial environments. The HYGROSTICK® sensor that is supplied with the instrument can also be embedded in solid floors and walls to obtain a material’s equilibrium relative humidity (ERH) value. This technique has been widely adopted by the flooring industry to establish if floor screeds and slabs have dried sufficiently prior to laying decorative floor covering. Increasingly, this technique is being used for a wide variety of moisture measuring/monitoring applications in building materials. Condensation ModeFor assessing the risk - or confirming the presence - of condensation on surfaces, use the MMS in Condensation mode. When the Surface Temperature Sensor is connected and held against a surface, the MMS displays the difference between the surface temperature and the dew point, together with text messages that confirm whether or not condensation is occurring.
