want to remove a load supporting wall to enlarge a living room and replace it with 4 or 5 inch I-beamFrom: jailbird98@sbcglobal.net Category: Structural Email: jailbird98@sbcglobal.net Remote Name: 69.153.51.204 Date: 17 Dec 2006 Time: 08:10 PM
CommentsI have a 19' load supporting wall (only supports 2"x6"s in ceiling and has 2 braces for roof structure supporting on wall) and I want to remove the wall to enlarge my living room, I want to replace the wall with an I beam. I just don't know what size and thickness will support that load without sagging in the middle. I don't want any supports in the middle of the room. 8' ceilings. any advice will be helpful.
thanks, Jimmie Lopez
