CommentsBuilding plans call for 30 ft long 2x8 rafters which I can't find anywhere. Dont want to use engineered i joists if I can avoid. Can I break the rafter span by placing shorter 2x8s (with normal birdsmouth cut) on kneewalls/ponywalls which will be located over load bearing walls below.? Basically the two rafter sections would be spliced. Thanks
