Recently bought a 2 story condo and noticed the unit downstairs kept coming back on the market. Called the condo association to see why. They said that a beam needed to be reenforced in the crawlspace (bldg is 25 years old). they said they heard a wall had been removed from my condo and that might be the reason why the beam buckled. I didn't know a wall had been removed but there are no signs of any sagging walls or ceilings in my unit. Can removing a wall or widening a doorway cause a beam to buckle 2 floors below? Can you tell how long the beam has buckled? The prior owners did some renovations in my condo 4 years ago. I think the condo association is trying to get me to pay to reenforce the beam. Help!
