Hello, My Garage is "Different". The original owner designed an 18 inch drop in the floor 24 feet in from the door. He liked to pull the vehicle up to the edge to work under them and to wash the bottom of his boat. There is an additional 9'6" of space from where the concrete does a verticle drop, to the rear wall. I want to extend the garage floor by spaning the space with standard lumber. I am okay with using 2 X 12's On top of 2X4s shot into the floor. This way I can build the floor up to the correct height. My intention is not to make this a parking area, but to utilize the space for a same level work area. I feel however, I need to plan for the potential that by mistake someone pulls a vehicle on to the new decking. If I use 2 layers of tongue and groove plywood, Glued and screwed to the timbers. What spacing would you recomend between the "Joists" Thanks Ken
