I am removing 14 feet of a load bearing wall that supports a second story room. The live load of the roof is 700 lbs per foot and the dead load is 210 lbs per foot. The wall of the second story is 128 lbs per foot. The second floor live load is 180 lbs per foot and the dead load is 60 lbs per foot. The total load is 1278 lbs per lineal foot. What width and thickness of flanges and thickness and depth of web do I need for a steel beam? It will be supported on each end with a 6x6 wood post.
