Re: Vinyl Clad Window FinishesFrom: mjbug@ssinternet.net CommentsQuestion: Is there a price difference between white vinyl clad sliding windows and bronze vinyl clad sliding windows? Builders Websource® Answer: No, typically the color of the finish doesn't change the cost of the window unless the color is a specialty or designer color. White and bronze (brown) are ftypical colors. According to the Andersen Window website, "The Andersen 400 Series palette now includes four standard exterior colors forest green, white, sandtone and Terratone® - all carefully selected to reflect the colors of nature, and to complement any décor, design or landscape." Note, however, that darker colors can fade over time, particularly when exposed to direct sunlight. We've seen some older vinyl windows, including from reputable manufacturers, that have a chalky appearance after years of continuous UV exposure. If these choices aren't enough, consider pultruded fiberglass window frames. These come standard in white but can be
painted any color.
