Re: Colorlok Siding ReplacementFrom: svffa@hotmail.com CommentsQuestion: Is there a suitable replacement (color wise) for Colorlok siding? We built a house 10 years ago and put on driftwood grey siding. We are adding on and found out that they don't make Colorlok siding. Also, I was wondering if there was any way to get an adjustment on the Colorlok siding we currently have as it has bubbled along the edges and looks like it will need replacing in the near future? Builders Websource® Answer: Masonite removed Colorlok siding from the market after settling a class-action suit. The suit alleged Colorlok siding failed prematurely, requiring replacement. Claimants may still file claims by visiting the official website: http://www.masoniteclaims.com/hardboard/FAQ.htm As to a suitable replacement, you might consider some of the fiber-cement siding products such as Hardiplank® Lap Siding by James Hardie at: http://www.jameshardie.com/ This product carries a 50-year warranty. If properly maintained, it can last longer than wood, plus you can paint it any color you choose. Currently the company also offers pre-finished siding in a variety of ColorPlus® colors.
