Question: We need to knock a hole in a brick "pass through" between the kitchen and restaurant. Please could somebody advise what tools are best to use? It's only a 5" wall but we need to knock a hole 16" by 16" to double the "pass through" space. Best regards and thanks. Mohan from King's Kurry.

Builders Websource® Answer: Assuming the wall is all brick, you can use a circular saw with a diamond or masonry blade to cut through from both sides of the wall. The diamond blade will cut a cleaner and thinner line but it costs more. Try to determine if there is any rebar or metal reinforcements in the brick before you cut. This will ruin your blade in a hurry and destroy your Kurry! Wear goggles and a mask to protect from masonry dust. Before you cut through any wall, be certain that you won't cause structural damage that could compromise the integrity the wall itself.
