We purchased a double-wide mobile home last year and are now having some problems when we use our washing machine. The washer has begun vibrating during the cycle. We called in Sears to look at the machine and he said the machine is fine but the floor is the problem. Either the floor is coming loose from the joists or the floor is not strong enough. He said that we may be able to fix the problem by securing a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to the floor under the washer and dryer. I can do that myself but I don't know how to find the joists. I tried a stud-finder but it gave me some strange readings and I don't trust it. Is there a good way to find the joists so i can fix this problem?
