Sealing Brick against dirt on Raised Patio

I'm putting in a raised patio, and I am going to have a 12ft x 6ft section of my brick next to all dirt. Should I seal the brick on the house next to the dirt? If so what sealer should I use? The same type as used on my basement wall?
