would like any advice or suggestions on how to obscure the bone colored vinyl jambs installed in all of our new double hung wood windows [13pcs.]. we would like to stain or paint them each a charcoal or ebony color but the vinyl jambs would destroy the intended look. we purchased this old commercial building is in a historic downtown so we wanted to have these wood double hungs, even though we knew they had vinyl jambs. we just got delivery of the 13 windows and the jambs appear more of a detraction than we had imagined... Does anyone know if the bone vinyl color can be altered with black shoe polish rubbed over the surface of the jambs [without destroying the vinyl jamb.]..i.e. would rubbing regular black shoe polish wax on the vinyl surfaces destroy the vinyl jambs? thank you. tomiyosasaki@yahoo.com
