Commentsin my opion, you will find that screws will out last a ring shank in years, it is alittle more time, and labor, as well as cost, but you will not have to treat them nor have any maintenance on them as you would with nails. As the wood dries out, nails will back out, and will allow gaps in your framing.
Hand rails are great at seperating when nailed, screws will keep them tight.
