modular home marriage and exterior wallsFrom: frankv569@yahoo.com Category: Structural Remote Name: 66.187.166.164 Date: 13 May 2005 Time: 10:46 AM
Commentswe are looking into several manufacturers of ranch style modular (non-hud code) homes. some differences we have seen are that the interior marriage walls and exterior walls use different sized studs- comparing products from different manufacturers. some use a 2"x3" marriage wall on each half of the house. some are using a 2"x4" on the marriage wall. is there a great difference in strength? also, on the exterior walls, they all seem to use a 2"x6" stud-but some are 16"oc and others are 24"oc. is there a great difference? my major concerns are that the house is trucked from a factory and was wondering if the 24"oc would hold up the same in transit.
