garage floorFrom: weldergump@adelphia.net Category: Other/Misc Remote Name: 68.68.79.85 Date: 27 Feb 2005 Time: 07:50 PM
CommentsI am building a new garage and the floor will be suspended above ground level due to the slope of the lot. The garage floor measures 28' x 32' and will be supported on eight inch and twelve inch concrete blocks on the load bearing walls. It is possible to fill the first 12' of the void with stone and deck the remaining 16' erecting a concrete wall at that point. The void underneath the floor will be 9' in height providing a good storage area. I am looking for the most economical way to provide this storage area. I was thinking of a twelve inch I beam down the center of the 14' span with small I beams as cross members supporting decking material. I could use some advice.
