Garage Door Header SupportsFrom: gsjohnson2003@yahoo.com Category: Structural Remote Name: 64.162.191.70 Date: 25 Jan 2005 Time: 02:00 PM
CommentsI have a 3 car carport with a flat deck on top that is used for entertaining. The carport is enclosed on 3 sides with one 4x4 support beam with a 2/3 offset left to right, but centered front to rear. I want to install garage doors & will need to build the header openings to accomodate the garage doors( 1 door 16x7 & the other door 8x7). Since there is already an existing concrete foundation in the garage and extending to the driveway, what is the best & most economical way to install the support beams for the headers? Do I need to saw cut away the area & pour new concrete with anchors or is there a way to avoid this?
