I have a 2 year old home with a vaulted ceiling over the center of the house. If we have cold weather (zero to plus 10 or so) without snow cover on the roof, when the temperature reaches the mid 30's or above we have leaking from the ceiling (as much as 2 cups of water in some places. We have a great builder who is trying to fix the problem. We have a roof ridge vent, we have insulated and closed off any areas where warm air could be getting into the 12 inch area between the wallboard (we have pine planking attached to the wallboard) and the roof. The builder is going to check the roof ridge vent when the weather is better to see if the roof plywood was cut far enough to the end to allow air flow in the outer section on each side. Do you have other suggestions?
