I am looking to use a steel beam header for replacement of a load bearing wall. The wall being replaced spans 16 feet. The width of the room being supported is 30 feet. Load is 15 feet. (30 divided by 2= 15 feet). I have been quoted two side by side wood LVL's which would be 11 inches deep. This is too much of a profile. I would like the smalled profile possible and want to put a steel header with a wood laminate lag bolted on one side to mount drywall. Can you held determine the size of the steel beam I need? My phone number is 757-303-3300. Thanks, Kevin
