crawlspace removal

I have a crawlspace that is approx. 25x20 with rock base. I would like to have this area dug out so I can have more basement space. I am having a hard time finding a contractor in my area (joliet,il) that will do it. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mark
