I have an open front building that I want to put some sliding doors on. Currently there is one span on the front that is 20ft and has a bit of sag and I want to replace it with a beam to support the roof better and the added weight of the doors. The truss' are 23ft on 4ft centers so at the most on the beam would be 6 truss' and I plan to make the doors out of 1in sq tube covered with tin. The roof has 2by4's covered with tin. I have some 4"x8"x5/16 square tube that I was planning to use, with the 8" being vertical. Will this be enough to support the roof? Also this faces south on this side so what little snow we get here in Northeast Kansas doesn't last very long. Another question: I want to put a tin ceiling in and maybe some blowen in insulation. The truss' are made of 2x4's on the bottom and 2x6's on the slope. Will this support the added weight?
