Is it correct that the 2x8's are continuous and span 20 feet and the new center beam will span 22 feet? If so, will the bedroom be approximately 10 feet wide and 22 feet long? Is this over a garage and if so, where is the garage door? Looking at the garage doors, the 2x 8's are horizontal across the 22 foot span, 16 in. I posted a picture from before our framing at: http://members.aol.com/wfekete1/room1.jpg The garage doors are directly under the window. But, yes... the room will be around 12'x22' inside the kneewalls. http://members.aol.com/wfekete1/room2.jpg
