CommentsA beam can't be selected until all the loads are known. How big are the rooms above and what kind of rooms are they? Like maybe there is an 8000 pound jacuzzi up there. Are there any roof loads to be considered? It isn't clear to me what the duct has to do with this issue. Won't the beam go where the wall was?
