Hi, I am opening 18 1/2 ' load bearing wall from my 26x45 home. 45' long wall is load bearing. The beam I like to put should support second floor and roof on top. What size steel beam should I put to make 18' clar opening. 8" deep, 18lb/ft, OK? I Can use Microlam but that be 16" deepx1.75" 2 beam nailed together, 16" is too deep so prefer steel I beam. Size help please.
