Concrete or Wood I-Beam Constucted FloorFrom: mvitucci@stny.rr.com Category: Flooring Remote Name: 66.24.37.70 Date: 11 Sep 2004 Time: 09:23 PM
CommentsWe are currently getting quotes to have a screened and old heeved concrete patio removed and adding an addition to the house. One of the quotes is to install footers and pour a concrete slab floor two steps down from the main level. The other quotes are for a house level wood I-beam constructed on the footers with a crawl space. What are the pros and cons of each type of floor? The addition will be 15'x30' with scissor trusses and cathedral ceiling. We kind of like the idea of the concrete so that we have no critter problems from the crawl space, however, we also want a floor we can cover and be happy with. Any help would be appreciated.
