I have an existing 24' by 30' concrete pier foundation on which I would like to build a single story wood frame cabin. The existing 12" diameter concrete piers are spaced 12' apart. Access is difficult for large and/or heavy trucks and therefore beam weight is critical. Would Glulam beams be the way to span the concrete piers for the foundation? Can you give me an idea of the beam size for a typical single story cabin or at least a typical pounds per linear foot dead load for a single story residence. Thank you. Keith
