Bowing Siding

My mother recently had some side replace on the lower part of her house. She originally had the the masonite type product that had been on for many years and was rotting. I am not sure of the product that was installed, but I assume that it was a similiar product. About a month or two after the installation of the new boards, you can see a definite bowing in the siding... Any ideas??
