I am going to build a 10' x 10' free standing deck off a current deck. The deck will need to support a maximum of 5000 lbs. That's the hot tub filled with 6 adults and possibly some snow on it. The spa is 7' x 7'. My plan was to have 9 support posts at 2' 5' and 8' going both ways. Is this enough posts to support the weight?
