Suspended garage floorFrom: rneal@citynet.net Category: Concrete Remote Name: 69.43.5.208 Date: 31 May 2004 Time: 07:56 PM
CommentsI am building a new home and the garge floor will be suspended above ground level due to the slope of the lot. The garge floor measures 24' x 21'4" supported on eight and twelve concrete blocks. It is possible to fill the first 10' of the void with stone and deck the remaining 14' erecting a concrete wall at that point. The void underneath the will be 9' in height providing a good storage area. I am looking for the most economicle way to provide this storage area. I was thinking of a twelve I beam down the center of the 14' span with small I beams as cross members supporting decking material. I could use some advice.
