Yard drainageFrom: SEHorner54@sol.com Category: Drainage/Waterproofing Remote Name: 4.12.104.49 Date: 05 Mar 2004 Time: 04:05 PM
CommentsI have a yard that is level with a small lake behind our house. We get run-off from our next door neighbor's sprinkler system, and any amount of rain will accumulate in my side yard. His yard is higher than ours but not by much. Too much water has killed 3 huge 50 year old live oak trees that we had to have removed last year. I recently planted 3 bald cypress trees along the fenceline; however, they sit constantly in water-fortunately they like water. A french drain is most likely "not" an alternative based on there is no "slope" to the yard, and when the lake fills up, which it does on numerous occasions during a "fast" rainstorm, it would create a worse situation than we already have. Any suggestions? This yard is virtually unusable.
