water seepageFrom: kathy_brown@sd27.bc.ca Category: Foundations and Basements Remote Name: 142.22.16.52 Date: 01 Mar 2004 Time: 04:59 PM
CommentsI have water seepage in my basement but only on very fast thaws. On one occasion, no snow on the ground or roof but the fast thaw brought in what I assume is permafrost melting (surrounding yard slopes slightly toward the house). I have recently installed a sump pump to handle the water inside but want to stop the water from getting in at all. Because the house is 40 yrs. old, I imagine there is not proper drainage in the perimeter. Is excavation, drain pipe & tile, resloping of yard the best repair? ($$$$$$$!!)
