Sagging joistsFrom: toto@responsemedia.com Category: Flooring Remote Name: 64.31.152.46 Date: 22 Jan 2004 Time: 10:45 AM
CommentsThe kitchen floor is sagging in the middle by almost 1 inch. The joists are all about 15 feet long and they are the ones sagging in the middle. They are 2x10 joists and they have no support in the middle. Can I jack them up and support them with a beam? Should I use metall or wood to support them? Do I have to jack some each day or can I jack the 3/4 inch in one time, will the wood give or will I have trouble on the ends of the joists if I do this? What does it usually cost to jack up a floor this size? 15x10.
Thansk a desperate home owner.
