have same problem in basement fireplace. was told to crack open door or window to allow air flow, haven`t tried yet but there is an idea. Another comment was that when furnace kicks in it causes negative pressure in basement and might even cause downdraft in flue, perhaps you do not have adequate fresh air supply to furnace room.
