Re: basement vapor barrierFrom: jeff.plass@kohler.com Category: Drainage/Waterproofing Remote Name: 66.84.209.156 Date: 23 Dec 2003 Time: 12:14 PM
CommentsConventional wisdom has us placing a vapor barrier on the warm side of the wall. New theories say that's fine for wood stud walls (exposed basement) but concrete half walls or full height concrete basement walls should have the vapor barrier on the cold side to prevent moisture from migrating in from exterior soils. This allows the insulated basement wall to "breath" into the interior. Agree? Disagree? Advise?
