Iwant to remove my ceiling joist and replace with cathedral ceiling. Inside measures 22x28x16 . What do i tie the new 2x8 into the wall plates with , is it safe to knotch out over the wall plate and then use joist hanger ? Do i need to put rafter tie towards the top or can I go all the way to peak with sheet rock?
