Bituthene Problems

We rolled on two full rolls of Bituthene after rolling on the primer. When we went back the next day it was all on the ground. It was kind of like it had melted or something. Any ideas what could have happened. It was tough enough getting it installed since it was so sticky. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
