CommentsYes, you may be able to remove some of these columns. You will have to have a Registered Architech or Structural engineer run the numbers on their beam check software and provide you with the requirements to remove them. I did the samething in my basement. I was able to just remove one column and the other was removed after a minor structual modification. The Architech charged me $300 and provided me with a certified letter that I included with my building permit application.
