CommentsOur deck is three years old. Coming up the stairs I noticed one of the steps was moving. Upon further inspection, I noticed every slider was split and broken in the same spot for every step on both sides. Would this be considered a structural design flaw and should the builder make good. He is talking about putting a plywood patch on each side of the splits and doesn't want to tear the stairs apart to replace the sliders. Would appreciate some advise as I don't know much about this sort of thing. thank you.
