I recently bought a 1932 bungalow in Nashville, Tn. The house has sunken some in the middle. I've had three different quotes done on adding some support underneath and doing some leveling. The quotes were 2500, 4500, and 12400 - a pretty wide variance. The methods were also varied - jack poles on concrete pads, wood 6 X 6 beams on concrete pads and steel beams with dug-in concrete bases respectively. I've also been told I could probably do the work myself - with either the jack poles or wood beams for about 500. I am completely befuddled - which is best to do - can I do this myself with very little experience? help!
