DWV for a sink under a window & over a crawl space

I am currently in the midst of a kitchen remodel and am using the project as an opportunity to replace work done by the previous owner that just wasn't done right. One of those items is the plumbing for the kitchen sink. The sink is located beneath a 54" wide garden window and the kitchen is on the first floor, with an unheated crawlspace beneath. My question is how do I vent the sink properly? One option that was presented to me was to drop the sanitary pipe for the sink straight down through the floor into the crawl space and trap it there, then take the vent off after the trap and run to the vent stack in the crawl space. I'm not thrilled with that solution as it means that the trap will be in the crawl space and prone to freezing (I'm in New Jersey). Do I have any other options?
