using painted aluminum soffit for ceiling in garageFrom: danadams2@hotmail.com Category: Architecture and Building Design Remote Name: 24.157.43.190 Date: 16 May 2003 Time: 08:57 PM
CommentsDon't want to use drywall for insulated ceiling of detached garage near Toronto...too heavy..requires joint compound..painting...dusty.
The best alternative is using 18 1/2"X 10ft painted white soffit, designed for exterior use. I strapped the bottom chord of the trusses with 1X4 and covered with vapour barrier. The soffit material looks good in store..light..highly reflective, dust-free surface..ease of installation. Has anyone else used this stuff or something similar?
