Re: how to install HVAC system in concrete slab

We do not recommend installing a radiant hot water system in an existing concrete slab. Substantial demolition of the slab would be required and is not worth the investment. Since you want to add both a heating and air conditioning system, you'll need to install ductwork anyway. Assuming you have an attic area, all of the ducts can be installed overhead, with ceiling registers. While heating from the ceiling is not optimally efficient, the converse is true for air conditioning. We recommend that you hire a local licensed HVAC specialist who can evaluate your as-built conditions to determine a suitable layout for your new heater/air conditioner. Builders Websource
