How to install system on concrete slab

For 30 some years we have heated our home with wood. We now, however, are interested in installing a heating & AC system. The major problems are our home is on a concrete slab and there is no existing duct work. The ideal heating system would seem to be hot water but the installation of the piping seems to be an unsurmountable barrier. Is there any way this can be accomplished without destroying the house?
