I have been living abroad for a number of years and we use the instantaneous gas water heaters that are installed in each bathroom and in the kitchen. I am working on a remodel in the US now and am considering replacing the cumbersome water heater tank with these units. They are quick to heat water, they only heat what's needed, etc. I am interested in knowing if the claims of 50% energy savings are true, and what it would take to refit the plumbing for this installation and of course upfront expense. Any experience? Recommendations for suppliers? My experience with these has been very good and wonder why it is not used in the US? Thanks.
