Supporting Attic Trusses

I want to finish the room above my attic and I am concerned about supporting the floor due to the added weight of the flooring and drywall. The room will be used for a play room for our son and there will not be much weight stored in there. The garage is attached to the house and is 24' by 22' and the roof trusses have space for a 12' wide by 22' deep room. The attic trusses have 2"x8" for the floor, 2"x6" for the rafters, and 2"x4" for the web. The roof is a 9/12 pitch and the trusses span the 24' width. I do not know how much weight the trusses can support and we live in a windy area that would add an extra unpredictable load. I was considering adding a 22' wooden 'I-beam' down the center of the garage to add extra support. I can tie the I-beams into the garage walls very easily. I hope I explainded this ok. Should I add a steel I beam or a several wooden I beams? Thank you,
