I have seen at least one example (circa 1975) of using underground ductwork to get cool air from the earth. Like making your own miniature cave to get cool air to cool your home. Can anyone point me to a company or web site that does this sort of thing? I'm thinking of a closed-loop underground duct coming from the upper part of the house (warmest air), going into the ground winding around, then coming up to registers in the rooms. I figure closed loop would keep from having filters/screens to keep pests out. Just some of my questions: How deep? What diameter of ducting? Where to get existing examples? Can this be used in the winter too for pre-heating to assist the heating system? Sources? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Rance PS: Take out the _nospam_ in my e-mail address.
