To re-attach your styrofoam beam to the ceiling, use a construction adhesive such as LIQUID NAILS LN910 Adhesive for Paneling & Molding or other suitable heavy-duty construction adhesive. Be sure to follow the "venting method" instructions on the back label so the adhesive doesn't harm the foam beams. Some adhesives will destroy styrofoam, so be sure to check with the manufacturer about your application before you commit to any product. Construction adhesives are permanent and are available from the Home Depot or other building supply stores in convenient tubes you can use with a caulking gun. To hold the beam in place while the adhesive cures, use a few 2x4s cut to size and wedge them into place between the floor and the beam on the ends and the center. Be careful not to damage the beam. Also, if the beam crosses any ceiling joists, you can also screw the beam into place at a few key locations using long deck screws. We always recommend using additional fasteners because it is never a good idea to install ceiling or overhanging structures with adhesive alone.
