My nephew is building me a 24x24 carport. I feel alittle concerned about the beams or whether he has gotten the correct material to hold the roof which will have roof shingles. This is using lumber, not steel or aluminum. This is what I see on the Home Depot order: 48 Versa Lam (2) /LVL 1 3/4 x 14"x24' 1 Pk Truss#2033999 /Truss 2033999 11-Common, 2-Gable /11 - 23'8" Truss 2x4 construction 5/12 pitch 1' overhang, common. 2 - 23'8" Truss 2x4 construction 5/12 pitch 1'overhang, gable. And he also ordered 4 each 4x6x12' Please let me know if perhaps we need to put another pole on each side to support the weight of the roof. He tells me it does not need it. The carport will remain open. We are not closing in the ceiling. The trusses will be showing, if this information helps. Please let me know. Thank you, Mary
