I need to replace the stools for two double hung windows in a remodeling project. Unfortunately, the original stools are missing so I have no guide to follow. Would you please tell me how thick the standard stool is and what wood stock is usually purchased to make one from scratch? Also, would you please tell me if the outer, underside is usually beveled with a plane or a rasp? Any help greatly appreciated! TIA
