baseboards

My German Shepherd puppy has recently decided that baseboards taste really good. While a repellent has effectively deterred her, I have 2 corners of baseboards where the paint has been chewed off. Now only wood shows in these patches, and the wood is splintered badly (but not too deeply). These baseboards had two lines carved out of them as a slight decoration; these lines have been chewed off along with the paint. How do I fix the baseboards so that they look undamaged? I have the paint, but what do I do with the splintered wood and the lack of decorative lines? THanks!
