Our house is a 1200 sq' Bungalow which due to water table height has a basement of only 6'. (Don’t ask why they didn't go higher at the time ugh.) We would like to possibly have the house lifted to add 2-3 more blocks in height. The outside of the house is sided with non-structural 2" x 4" x 8.5" brick. Is there any way to support this brick so the house can be lifted without having to crib it with beams every 4'. i.e. Can I cut out the first coarse of brick and put in a lintel all the way around and lag it to the header board on the end of the joists? Would this hold? Or is there any other way you may know of to support it? Thanks in advance Scott
